Just broke a tooth and now need a flywheel for 302 HO motor from 88 mustang in my comet. Please advise which flywheel to use with standard transmission.
Probably a 157 tooth 50 oz or you could just have a new ring gear put on it. Prices are all over the place from $ 65.00 for resurfaced used to $400.00 new Ford Racing
Yep, it's easy to install a flywheel ring gear. Chisel/grind the old one off, or use a BFH with a big punch. Heat the gear up in the oven for a few minutes and drop it on the flywheel. It'll smoke some in the oven when the machine oil cooks off. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-157-T-F...ash=item3ac315de68:g:9~0AAOSwoudW8I9N&vxp=mtr
if you need to buy a new Flywheel I just Bought a new safety certified PRW Flywheel for 265.00 and it has the removable Weight so it can be balanced from neutral to 28 oz or 50 oz. It was cheaper than a stock replacement.
and were do you smart ass 's get a new stock replacement for less? I was quoted 279. 99 for a new ford stock Flywheel.
