I was hunting for a new one last week and was surprised to find that Home Depot carries Exide. Hard to find really good warranties anymore/prorated crap.. but I trust that brand more than some others. Got the biggest one that would fit.. a bit pricy($90+).. but it spins the wifes "big V6" over like a tiny little 4cyl import engine.

Neither. Not sure Tom ever mentioned that's all he wanted?

Sorry to sway away from the ever popular red, yellow, blue top discussion. Carry on.

I'll probably go back to walmart for a "wet one"(maybe two or three, besides Cobra & Comet I need one for T-Bird)... I generally get seven or eight and sometimes 11 years out out them, I can't see a need for a AGM...

Back in 2002 I bought a red top for my Sprint restoration. It was still in it and working in 2013 when I replaced it. The only reason I replaced it was because I was thinking it should die any time now. I never put a charger on it even when my car sat out in the trailer all winter long going 3 months without starting it. It never failed to perform. So I replaced it with another. I still use the original for testing stuff around the garage, and powering the winch on my trailer.
