Solvent depends on the material. You find out what the cement is then look up what solvents remove it. As to the ventilation question. If it is inside the car just cover up the windows if you can't roll them up and run a duct out of one of the back quarter windows with a fan pushing air in from somewhere and a fan pulling through the duct. Then put some charcoal filters on the duct. Shouldn't cost you much more than $40 and will eliminate any fear of exploding your garage. An overnight soak is the BEST way to remove cements.
Not an option................although I'd love to put a Halon system, but just don't want to spend the $600+ for one. No need for carpet in a race car.............maybe if I was racing in the B/SM classes............just want to get it out and clean up the interior and get rid of the gas and oil smell.
If you mean the ones that go under the door sill plates I have a couple sets of those, most of the cars I have parted had the cardboard type so I kept the hard plastic ones. Send me a PM if these are the ones you want and I will figure out how much to ship them to you Mike
I want to take off weight, not add.......................if I was bucks up I'd get some Lizard Skin......................maybe later.
I'd really be affraid to light a torch inside the Maverick for fear everything still left on the floor would ignite........................and I wouldn't be wearing my firesuit........................I think I'll stick with the chemicals. Thanks, John
I kinda thought so but also thought it would be about the lightest thing to apply for some sort of protection and a non skid surface.
I use this stuff at work for removing glue from stick on wheel weights, also just used it on a boat to remove the carpet cement along with a scrapper.http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=3m+adhesive+remover&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=imvnsfd&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1600&bih=799&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=2271229545712018704&sa=X&ei=gxztT5_jFKPv0gG_i4yJDg&ved=0CGUQ8wIwAw
I think there is still enough sticky stuff on the floor that I won't have any problem with skidding...........................for now I'll just keep the bare floor...................I've still got a long ways to go though.
Got some similar stuff from PPG yesterday............now just need to go out and get it finished. Thanks, John
