Guys ... here is an original Maverick 302 lower hose installed on a car with Power Steering. A Mustang hose WILL NOT work here since the power steering belt will not clear ...
I started working on the hose install today ... still don't have the D1DE stamp but should be here tomorrow. Also since I was draining the cooling system I decided to purchase the correct 3 row radiator which will be delivered tomorrow. I had been running a 2-row with no cooling issues but the smaller tank left a gap at the top of the radiator support that I didn't like and definitely didn't look factory. As you can see ... the hoses fit fine. I had to trim about 2 inches off the lower hose where it connects to the water pump to get the hose to line up properly. Also ... as you can see is would be a tight fit to use a Mustang lower hose with Power Steering.
My old one will be available for sale or trade once my project is complete ... FYI ... it is a 3 row ... I had a interesting discussion with a local radiator shop concerning radiators that I will post in another thread tonight.
Got the Mustang hoses in and the correct radiator as well .... still waiting on my D1DE stamp .... Notice the Mustang lower hose is way different than the Maverick hose ..
