Hotrod-Daddy......we need to talk before the roundup....cause I plan to be heading that way also! Todd
just got my trip plan from allstate motor club today to owensboro. 3538 miles round trip. 52 hours 19 minutes. will take fuel donations. just kidding i figure almost 300 gallons of diesel.
This sucks...I called the rivermont today for reservations and I don't smoke and will not stay in a smoking room.....well the area of the hotel that they have the club members in has no more non smoking rooms left and they would be happy to put me in the other side of the hotel for $120 That is B.S. So now i either have to find a different cheaper hotel or not stay the night and make it a one day trip. Robert
I'd call back and try to get a different person. I have found that if you get the right person they will get you taken care of. You may also find someone that has made a reservation and is going to cancel.
Well i sent an email to the hotel, and this is what i got back. Mr. Bailey, I have received your email regarding your conservation with the reservation clerk at The Exe Inn in Owensboro, Kentucky. The contract was signed and the rate that was contracted was $65.00 (including 2 breakfasts) and ONLY in the West Motel. I apologize that the clerk did not ask questions when you were attempting to confirm your reservation. I have re-instated your reservation and assigned you to a non smoking room at the rate of $65. Please let me know if you wish to cancel as I do not want you to get charged for the no show. Again, I apologize for this situation and hope that you will keep your reservation. Please let me know. Jan Kinsey, Asst. Gen Mgr I just wrote them saying i was disapointed that the rate was only for a certian part of the hotel and that for 120 for a no-smoking room in another part of the hotel that my stay will be just fine at the days-inn down the street . Robert
The Executive Inn will be sold out that weekend...as I imagine they are all summer long. As the manager stated, the MCCI was contracted to only a certain amount of rooms and of a certain type of room (A Variety of double beds, single beds, smoking, non-smoking, etc) All of these rooms were on the West end of the hotel in building 5. This was the only area where we had rooms set aside for our group. I really encourage you to stay at the host hotel...as the Days Inn is a little more than just "down the street".
