    Hello Club Members.

I have a 1969.5. All original with one family owner. I need to sell it and just don't know do I leave it all original or spend a few thousand dollars get it painted and tire / rims. I have had folks tell me leave it alone (it is in great shape) and only a couple say do it up. My fear is I won't recover my money when i sell it.

I say sell it like it is so that the next potential owner can see what the car looks like in it's original condition.

That way if they buy it they can spend the amount of money that they want to have it painted and buy the wheel and tire combo that they prefer.

Also some people don't like to buy freshly painted cars, as they fear it is full of bondo and someone slapped a quick paint job on it to sell it.

Great advice... your car looks great. I am thinking asking 3K for mine. 85K miles, everything original with single family owner in California. Even have the original warranty card, dealer charge place and receipt for an after market air conditioner. Has a few dings, but recent bid to bring it to 100% nice was 3K to paint. Thanks again

Thanks for the compliment on my car! It is more of a 20 footer, but I'm happy with it. Hopefully sometime in the future I can have a nice paint job put on it.

$3K seems like a fair price for your car. Good luck with selling it!

Putting money into it wont get you anymore dollars when it is sold , or not enough to make it worth the effort. Yes good tires and brakes will help and are relatively cheap to do

An original 69.5/70 would have a six.

Dont buy/build a maverick if you expect to get a good return on investment. Maybe in another 15/20 yrs...As of now...Not highly valued enough.
Keep it and build it for yourself to enjoy, or sell it as it is now. People like to buy unmolested cars. Not many hidden sins to worry about that way.Good luck whatever you decide.

If you're selling it, do a good cleaning and maybe fix any obvious stuff that's worn out or broken, but otherwise leave it original. I'd never leave a Maverick original if I were keeping it, but people in the market to buy them prefer them to be "unmolested".

Leave it as it is because you probably won't get much extra out of it by wasting your money on wheels and tires. Just clean her up the best you can so she looks nice, clean and pretty.

Leave it alone and sell it as-is. Putting more money into it with high hopes of recovering said monies will only end in disappointment. Your asking price seems more than fair, given the limited description and lack of detailed photos.
