RIP David Pearson

    He wasn't a drag racer and didn't drive a Maverick/Comet, but David Pearson was one of Fords best, if not THE best wheel man in NASCAR. Anyone who is a Woods Brothers fan is morning the loss of the "silver fox". David was probably most known for his habit of firing up a cigarette when he was preparing to dispatch another competitor in search of a victory. In fact, the Woods Bros had to install a cigarette lighter in his race cars!!

    Back in the day, he and Richard Petty just about owned the super speedways.

    RIP David.. Not much doubt, the best.

    He won 105 races vs Petty's 200 but entered less than half as many.

    My favorite racer growing up.

    The Wood Brothers shop and museum is just a couple hours drive from me. If you are ever in Virginia it is well worth stopping in and touring.
