    The factory did use port pictured but no way I'd use it for PCV. Original engine in my Comet had a lean misfire on #7 because of that hookup. cometenginerear.JPG

    Agree with RMiller. The one on the left looks to be a broken temp sending unit, though Ford usually put those at the front of the engine. No reason you can't use the vacuum tree shown. I suggest you turn your PCV-only carb spacer upside down, however and look at it. It should have 2 small notches which connect the internal passages of the hollow spacer to manifold vacuum. On this pic they're roughly at 5:30 and 6:30 positions.

    I too would do without the EGR valve. It's ugly and they do go bad.

    PCV should be fed from combination of vac from both banks of the engine. That's what the openings in spacer does.

    Where is the EGR port in intake? Would it be blocked off if your solid spacer were installed upside down? If so, could you possibly drill the spacer and use it?

    I find that the exhaust will burn right thru the gaskets on the block off plate.

    so what do you suggest? Something different? The thick gasket on the bottom?

    I would suggest doing away that spacer and get an aftermarket intake that has no EGR on it.

    I once saw a '77 F-150 with a burned out aluminum carb spacer. Those used EGR intake but blocked opening with a solid spacer.

    The F-150 was introduced mostly to get around emissions/EGR requirement of F-100. Of course within two or three years the F-150 was subject to same requirement as F-100. I believe '81 was last year of F-100.

    Ive looked and looked. I cant find a spacer with no EGR but with a vacuum port for PCV
