What is supposed to go on this port? It had all the EPA stuff on it before. Not sure where to hook it now

Looks like the positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) valve. It can connect to the air cleaner, or to the intake manifold, or the carb.

That's What I thought at 1st but thegthe pcv goes into tthe Carburetor On the other side and in the other valve cover

I thought maybe I took one of those round air cleaner looking tops. But I think those go into a hole and not on the top of a nipple.

The valve covers are identical. Typically the driver side does not have the pcv grommet installed and has either a screw on cap, or a push on cap from the factory with a hose connecting it to the air cleaner assembly. That is where most folks would add oil after an oil change. The passenger side is the side that usually has the pcv grommet and valve. Does it matter, probably not.

Huh. My passenger side has a hole up front that has a screw in cap with a big hole in it that the pvc slides right into.
The passenger side has this nipple thing in the back hole that wont come out. In fact a bit of the circle part broke by the hole. In fact it looks pressed in.

I guess I can just hose it up to the air filter which has a punch out in the back

Your valve covers maybe old enough that there is a left and a right, I have not seen those in years.

Assumin' it's a PCV valve(and not a open vent), connect to the vac port on intake, one that's pointed toward firewall. Plug the others off. If port on carb is also full vac, plug it as well. Connect ported vacuum on carb to vacuum advance diaphragm. Smple..

Ford moved PCV valve from passenger to driver side in 1970, looks like your valve cover moved it back to passenger.

Moral? Kept the bosses nephew in a job. As long a fresh air can flow in one side, through engine and back out other side, makes no difference were valve is installed. I moved one on my Comet from diuver side to passenger, using 1967 hookup & vented oil cap. cometenginerightsnip.JPG

Thanks all. I hope i did this right. Top is drives side bottom is passengers.
I hooked the drivers side PCV to the bottom carb plate.
Put a little filter on the passengers side.

That should get the job done. I messed around with a couple pcv valves until I got one that seemed to draw enough air though it to make me think it was working.

Yes, that filter on the vent side will work. Factory setup usually has a hose from the bottom of the air cleaner inside the filter to draw filtered air into the engine. That connects to the oil fill cap. The opposite valve cover has the pcv valve and the hose from there connects to unported vacuum at the base of the carburetor...on stock motors normally a pcv spacer between the intake manifold and the carburetor. By drawing filtered air into one valve cover, into the vee, and out through the opposite valve cover it ventilates the entire engine better.

Here's chart of fan sizes. The 170/200 radiator will have smaller radiator hose size than 250 & 302

The C9OZ-8600-B was used on 302 Torino & Mustang
