On the subject of stainless, I wouldn't use it for a subframe connector. Too hard (read brittle).

Before you get too deep into making them...you can get them as cheap as $65-80 at JEGS and Summit :2cents:

I know all your fabs are super-high quality! So ... I take a set of them if you decide to market your SBC's .... :)

There are some bolt-on sets in Summit, as well. They were a bit more pricey, like $150 or so. Ed, I bet if you look at those, you could get an idea how to make a bolt on set.

I would guess you could do flat stock that wrapped around the 3 sides of the frame and bolted through from side to side with one large bolt.

Welded is the way to go ... the shop that did my exhaust said they could weld sub-frame connectors in for me.

In what way, other than not as good of quality...

    Different shape/style?

I think they are the hollow square tubing, probably thinner metal, and not as strong.

FWIW you guys do NOT want bolt in sub frame connectors as they will end up tearing your sub-frame in the same manner. I've witnessed on a Mustang where this happend, and since then will never suggest bolt-in sub frame connectors.
