Hey I got a thought I keep hearing that you want something different but you want the Chevy/Ford combination why don't you get a 72 TA or Nova and put a 351 clevland in it:thumbs2:

460 in a Vette!!! thats gonna swell up and leave one heck of a rash...Once you get past the itching and the sores it should be a blast to beat on.

to get back to your question... "why can't I put an LS2 in a Mav?"

    i see 2 reasons why...

    reason #1...you don't know how...
reason #2...you don't have the money...

...and you said..."Ok I'm bored and I have an idea that is probably not popular."
so you were trying to :stirthepot: with the...chevy-in-a-ford...statement..JMO

    ......

My father has always wanted to put a Cleveland in an AMX or in a Camaro.

I got a Chevy in my MOPAR :naughty:and I fabbed up a set of Mopar Performance Valve covers for it:biglaugh:. Chevy is the most popular engine on Ford hotrods:cry:, but they are like belly buttons. Everyone has one:rolleyes:.

The Ford sm block weighs less the the Chebby. Bolts in place, will kick butt... Won't cost more. A little fabracation will make a set of Chevy Valve Covers fit the Ford motor.:burnout:.

    Love that avitar....

if you're set on an engine swap that doesnt belong in a maverick for cheap
    buick 350(450lbs)...you can pick up a running engine with 80 to 100k for $50 to 250$ and a th350 for another 50 to 100 ..
thats what i thought about doing and would have if the 302 wasnt a drop in from a 250
but since you already have a 302..just throw on some boltons and redo the rear end

gear change will be the most bang for youre buck..followed by head work(diy with a dremal) then exhuast and then typical boltons/cam
