Yes, Scooper... I took both SC suspensions fully apart and cleaned them, replaced worn items and painted old ones... Problem is, they've been under back in place for some time now that some of them are starting to show slight surface rust again... By the way, the Mav was fully sandblasted and lots of small rust holes were left behind by this process... (very coarse sand was used and I knew nothing about this process to have an opinion on it)... but there is no rust anymore, when you blast one of these oldies and then repair correctly, chances are your sheetmetal will last a good 15 yeras of rust-free joy.

Im wondering if you have enough room between those towers to get the wide motor mounted. I agree, on seeing more pictures.

The 3.8 is basically a 5.0 minus two cylinders.

    Not so...

Deck height is closer to a 351 and unlike the Chevy V6 & SBC, virtually nothing interchanges with the Windsor family & the 3.8/4.2 V6...

I should have been more clear, I was refering to the overall envelope of the engine. I had a '93 T-bird with a 3.8 and once I had the top end off to replace those notorious head gaskets I did a lot of measuring. The 3.8 would easily drop right into my Maverick. I also did some measuring of the T-bird's IRS, decided to leave well enough alone. Loved that car, only got $100 trade in after 15 years of service. LOL There were times I wished I had kept it.

ThereĀ“ll be enough room... look at the engine bay closely... it's NOT a Maverick engine bay... (as another forum member already noticed and accurately pointed out) ... Engine will definitely fit... no doubt about it.

Two more pics here... on the first one: :rofl2: If the guy dispensing the gas knows anything about these cars, I'll love to see his "WTF??" face :hmmm: when he realizes he will be filling the Mav by the side and not by the rear cap... this is one of the mods I now like cause I think it turned out right but I was kinda forced into doing it by the nature of the project itself... I'll tell you why later on (or you guys will find out on your own as I disclose more details of what I did to this Mav)... ... ... ... On the second pic you can see the front suspension (hope you don't mind lots of dust and slightly rusted surfaces) I'm still in the not-so-pretty stage of this project...:tiphat:

Very cool project. I previously owned a '94 Super Coupe and a '89 Cougar XR7, both were 5 speeds.

Something tells me the Mav body was married to the pan of the T-bird. Ambitious to say the least!:thumbs2:

I have a feeling it will be the only Maverick with a fuel tank ahead of the rear axle...

I have subscribed to this thread!! Nice work! :thumbs2:
