There is one more advantage to having vinyl seats, my drivers ED teacher taught us back in high school, if you have a vinyl bench seat and are going out on a date, he said wipe it down real good on the passenger side with armor all, then while driving...say going to a drive-in movie, take a very hard and fast right turn and your date will slide over to your side:rofl2:Of course this no longer works with the seat belt laws in place....I guess i'm just living in my past (and I like it) vinyl seats are what I was used to having in my Mavericks and I just liked not having to worry about stains and the like...things have changed, times have changed, but I am still the same old me....everyone is different and that is what makes us unique, and thats what will keep our cars from being the same all around, and as individuals, our cars will reflect that individuality, and that is what make them fun to own and drive.

I like those seats, Frank. Thanks for attaching the pix.
Seeing them gives me a whole new perspective on the burlap and covering the entire cushion and seatback in a cloth type material. I wud do the sides w/ vinyl. :hmmm:I was leaning toward the black cloth but now I have to think abt it some more. :hmmm:

I agree w/ a lot of what ur conveying. But, like u say, things and times have changed. There are vast improvement in technology and it benefits most of society whether one accepts/agrees with them or not.
"Example: I like my flatscreen tv over the CRT sets; I like my CD player and Ipod over my cassette; I like my computer printer over my old typewriter. I suppose this is enough to see where Im coming from." Wud I go back "NO".
What u said abt our cars I do agree. Individuality is what make them fun to own and drive.

I like the black. I have a set of Mustang GT seats redone in perforated vinyl, I'll see how I like them, if not I'm going burlap/tweed.

I have a set of 2K Stang seats. I had the passenger side mounted on the regular tracks. I was informed by those on the forum that I shud get a set of LDO tracks to make them sit low enough. The seat I had mounted did sit a little high when in the most upright position.
I thought abt it, and wud have to get the tracks plus have the seats recovered to have the look I wanted. And after that I might have to change the steering wheel to a smaller one. All that seems like more than I wanted to deal with. My original are in pretty gud shape so that contributed to re-doing the originals. I have pretty much decided to go w/ black vinyl/cloth.

That seat cushion looks like it might be lower than the one I had mounted. I probably cud have used it w/ the tracks I have. I will try and sell my seats; i think they are just reg Stang seats - not GT's.
What are they going in? Will they be recovered? I like um.

They are going in the car I'm working on now. When I bought them, they had been recovered already. I'll see if I have any pictures, they are Black, with the center section done in Black perforated vinyl, with the back seat to match.

Tweed, that's the word I couldn't think of the other night! Thank you! :Handshake

Sorry if I offended anyone with the burlap referance, my mind went blank and it was the only thing I could think of at the time.

I finally got the newly covered seats, heater core, new AC vents and tweeters moved to package tray in today. I like the sound sys much better w/ the tweeters out of their home in the 5.25 nests and out on their own.
I worked on the project most of the winter when it was warm enough to work in the garage - that was'nt vry often. I did the seats in the house workshop. Anyway, after I finished I went for a nice littel ride and hung out w/ some of the locals gearheads for a few. I still have a little more cosmetic issues to deal w/ but now it's time to ride - and that's what I plan to do.
I forgot to mention recovering the rear speaker shelf and installing two new 6*9 -2way speakers -- I like um.

Thanks! I like um. No more sliding around on slick-sweaty vinyl. One of the best mod's I've done as far as comfort goes. It shud have been an option frm the factory as far as Im concerened.
