I'll have to keep my eyes peeled when I am down there. I get to St Pete every couple weeks. Looks like that shop is Central Ave and 26 Street. There is a clean 73 that my wife spotted while I was driving. It was parked at the transmission shop on the frontage road as you merge north onto US 19 coming from SR 580 (Main Street, Dunedin). Two miles from my home. I would have driven right past it and not seen it if she hadn't said anything. That merge can be a pretty busy one. Eyes on the road ....
yep first time ive seen it, ive seen a couple 4 door daily drivers but never one as good as that driving around.
I was in Inverness, FL yesterday and along with a couple other old car sightings, there was a beige/tan 1973 2 door that was travelling east on Gulf-to-Lake Highway. Unfortunately, I was going west, so I only saw it for a few seconds. It looked like a clean survivor, but I suspect it was an LDO with a repaint and the side trim removed. It still had the rear panel for the taillights. I also think I am recalling a vinyl roof, the kind that is just on the top, from windshield to rear window, without extending onto the C pillars. Skinny tires and stock wheels with hubcaps.
There was a '72 Maverick Grabber at the World of Wheels show in Edmonton owned by a Tom Sieber out of Edmonton(according to the info card). Is that anyone on here? I never got to talk to the owner since I didn't see them around the car, but it's a great looking car and was actually my first time seeing a Maverick in person that's not one of my project/parts wrecks(they're really uncommon around here) and I got way too excited when seeing it. I spotted it from some distance away while checking out a '70 Charger, literally yelled "MAVERICK!!!", and ditched the Charger to run over to it and check it out, haha.
ya that's one of his grabbers,,he has three,,the weird thing is he has owned 68, 689shelbys,70 boss and a couple of cobra jets in one time or another in his collection he loves mavericks them,,get him started on the topic and ya can see his eyes light up,,
I was in Brooksville Florida on Wednesday and happened across this very clean, simple 1970 Maverick. Very original look to it, except the BFG white letter tires. Tidy interior, similar to Grey Gold (a 1972 color), but maybe a bit more tan. I did talk briefly to the woman driving it. She said that she and her husband have another Maverick, too. I told her about the discussion board and gave her a note with the addy. She sounded like she was fighting laryngitis and not much into talking at all. I got the vibe that the cars were more of her husband's thing. Seeing this car did perk up a day that otherwise was going a little bit sideways.
poor old maverick sitting in front of tire shop just south of Calgary ,,I think they wanted to look like rockies on the side of the car,,
Was in Dearborn over the weekend for the 50th Anniversary of Mercury Cougar. Saw this Comet at the adjacent car show.
The Border Bandit!! Very cool! Canadian, eh? LOL As a side note, Cougar VIN 001 lived just an hour north of where I live.
I was at the adjacent car show. The Maverick Comet Club International (MCCI) had a mini-meet there. I was there with my car along with lots of other members. Did you see the rest of us?
Saw this one at the High River car show south of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This is the good side. Only Maverick in the show, out of 1200 cars ( as far as I could tell). The owner didn't put his name on his card. Figures. MD
Saw this picture at my least favorite store in the world. Not exactly a Maverick sighting but very cool, the car obviously meant a lot to him.
