Stefan and I are working on it...we'll get it up soon I think. It will be worth the wait....it's a hoot.
I got Stefans E-mail last night and uploaded it right away, emailed him back to let him know....no word back yet...it's at the ftp site....I just can't copy the URL and post it...
Rick, what did you do to break-in your motor so fast? I am cranking mine up for the first time (complete rebuild) this weekend. I have always took it easy on them the first 300 miles, changed the oil 3 x's and then felt free to stomp on it. What did you do for break-in, if anything!
Damn cant see it!!! Is it just me that cant get into anything with www.maverick.to....I have to get on the board through a back door???
Sorry about the poor video quality ya'll, my oldest son, Josh is doing the narrating and camera work....I think he was more excited than me and I was the one driving. I wasn't supposed to be lined up with another car, I had made 2 leisure passes down the track just to get a feel for the car, this was my first serious pass, when the other car came up with me my brain went to hell in a hand basket. I drew a blank on when to engage the transbrake so I footbraked it, redlighted, shifted late out of first(didn't want to take one of my hands off the steering wheel) and let off it before I got to the finish line. The seat has a permanent crease in it now cuz my butt was clenched so tight Ray it does indeed say 6.03 on the slip, the car will do better than that though once the bugs are worked out, the Holley blue fuel pump can't maintain the 9 psi pressure required for an entire pass and the stall converter being loose, the car doesn't start to pull hard until around 7000 rpm's, it also needs a carb to scoop tray among some other piddling things...I THINK once all is said and done it should consistently run low 5.9's or high 5.8's...in cooler temps even better...it was a freakin oven out there. I won't post a timeslip until I've run the best time in it, not someone else. Scotty, this motor was built for the abuse bracket racing has on a motor so you break it in like you drive it, @alls to the wall. After the first 12 passes I'll change the oil, cut the filter open and inspect it and maybe change the plugs and adjust the valves...if it holds up it shouldn't need a freshening for 2-3 seasons. Sorry for the long post but I'm a little excited about my car
I wanna go racing!!!!!! I've go to finish two other projects before I get started on my drag car. I want to do it now!!!!! Otherwise, your run looked very good, Rick.
