these are my 60 0ver flat top pistons. decked 52cc heads with a 548 lift cam. i have no valve clearance problems
1. yep, 18 2. I wasnt ignoring everyones answers, i was just trying to understand the WHY! BUT with the whole cam thread, i was confused on why i couldnt run a big cam, finally it made sence, everything has to work together. You cant tell an 18 year old he cant have a big cam just because, you have to give me a reason so i can understand!!! so i did listen to shadowmaster but i think that thread really pissed him off lol 3. I understand, im making mistakes left and right!!! 4. I will got to beach bend as soon as this motor problem is situated, thanks for the advice 5. I know he knows his stuff, i just dont like his attitude, i have told him both points in a pm or two. 6. thanks for the offer but i think ill be ok with the 80s pistons in my car:16suspect We will have to hang out sometime and talk about mavericks
more compression is more power. if you plan on running nitrous at any point i would stray away from flat tops. youll shatter them with too much spray. i love my flat tops though. the compression made quite a difference in my car. you need good heads though. a small chambered head is the way to go for big compression with flat tops to get alot of motor power. that with a big cam and a good flowing intake. for your cam question.. the comp 292 is what i run. i love it. and the comp 306 is what we have in my dads mav. its a great cam too. just be sure and spend the money on good valve springs
I had flat top pistons initially which was going to make my 331 build a little above 10:1 compression. After I decided that I was gonna run a supercharger my engine builder suggested dished pistons. That brought my compression down to 8.7:1. He did tell me I would be making less power on NA engine.
true. but you can run flat tops. justin is still in the learning process that we all have been through and i figured he should know his options.
