LOL.. that was a joke. The '57 Chevy is still one of my all time favorite cars though.

Like I said above. Fix the biggest flaws that the tire kickers and hagglers will try n bust your balls with. I really think that adding some forward rake(Arning drop and/or half a coil removed) will help the look too but probably not worth it unless you can do all the work yourself. All boils down to investment vs return.

No, it can look (in my opinion) like a Grabber that's been resto-modded.
I don't consider throwing on a Grabber hood and spoiler making it a "Grabber clone". I've done that to my Maverick and don't consider it a Grabber clone. What I'm referring to is like '71/'72 stripes on a '73 with '73 bumpers, stuff that makes it so obvious that it's not a Grabber.

I say do whatever looks good to you, but I just think if the objective is a "clone" of something, at least make it look believable, 'know what I mean?

You can make a 4 door car look great with the right wheels ditch the ones you have on there they are better suited for a 50 ford with lake pipes

Didn't seem all that funny to me after thinking back to all the badass looking 4 doors I've seen at car shows and shot over in Brazil. IMO, you'd either need to be blind, have very poor taste in old cars, maybe even hate Fords, or just be plain ignorant to kick some of those Brazilian cars out of your garage.

So, this looks horrible and all the 4 door haters wouldn't be caught dead in it?

Of course not many guys seek out 4-doors to start a build with.. but I sure as hell wouldn't hold that against a solid survivor car that fell into my lap at a good price. Plus, you could do this if the extra doors bothered you more than the roofline did.

Just looking at what we've constantly been fed from the automakers and sales history itself, of course the fastback design was/is the most popular from an aesthetics standpoint. For a sporty car.. form follows function and fastbacks obviously aero better than sedans while typically being lighter with fewer doors to detract from the overall visual form of the car. But that certainly doesn't mean any variation which uses 4-doors would be sinful to drive. And the cool factor goes up rather quickly once that sleeper looking 4-door hands you your ass in a contest. Being different than the cookie cutter crowd and having something more rare than the other guys adds cool factor too. Everyone has different tastes of course.. but cool is still cool no matter who you are.

IMO, and as evidenced by a huge aftermarket wheel selection, wheels and stance can drastically change the overall look and vibe of any car and should never be underestimated for their excellent bang for the buck.

I thought it was funny for the line of "50 ford with lake pipes". Not four doors. There are some great looking four doors.

'Sorry, but there's nothing cool or sporty about a 4-door from the 1970s. That's fine if some people like them, they should have what they like, but you can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig. All the "bling" in the world won't change that "grocery-getter" body style. And ANYTHING can be made to go fast. I'll bet there's a Prius somewhere that can hand you your ass. So what?? It's still not a cool car. Never will be.

If I had a clean 4-door Maverick, I'd drive it, but I'd never try to make a muscle car out of it. Doing THAT just shows poor taste in cars. Those examples look silly except for the black one, which has a few nice custom touches.

would it look just as ugly if that very same car sat 4" higher and had 3" fender gaps housing those awesome looking 15" factory 10 spoke hubcaps?
