    From Wikipedia

    Sidemarker lights and reflectors

In North America, amber front and red rear sidemarker lamps and retro-reflectors are required. The law initially required lights or retroreflectors on vehicles made after 1 January 1968. This was amended to require lights and retroreflectors on vehicles made after 1 January 1970.

I guess, since my car was built in October of 1969, I don't need them

Its dangerous to remove side marker lights if you have a dark car it makes it hard to see at night from the side ,it may look cool but the reason there are laws about it was that a lot of people got killed from side impacts,I would keep them if I was you plus in my state you would get hassled by the man

1968 and up needs them. 1969 came after 1968.

I think side markers date a classic car. Newer car don't have them with wrap around parking lights, why would you want your classic look like a new car?
