Hi guys! Just wanted to tell you that Mavericks are worldwide! Just bought my first one, '74 with 302 and C4. Im going to transform it to older style and give a little bit more kick to the motor! Love the car already and I havent even started doing it yet! - markus
Thanks guys! I will definetily post photos, i think i will open a new thread for that project and keep you updated there. Sorry for my english language, havent used it for a while
Welcome to the site from northeast Ohio!!!! The best place to post your car's photos and detail are in the Garage section of this site. Your English writing is a lot better than my Finnish or Swedish!
Congratulations on your enthusiastic endeavor ! You have a lot of ' Company ' on this forum . I can't recall a post 'EVER' complaining about owning a Maverick or Comet !... Just a little grumbling when things don't go just great ! Did you perform the ' Leaky Cowl Test ' yet ? Pour a gallon of water into the cowl area grilles and onto the lower part of your windshield to determine if there are ' leaks ' .. Have someone assist you with this operation .. they pour YOU look with a flashlight . Hope everything is Dry ! Most of the cowl areas can be problematic on these cars. Cometized (Chip)
Thanks for the tips! My plan is to do a little patching on the quarterpanels, ditch the vinyltop, swap bumpers and get a paintjob done. For the paintjob I have to remove windshield and rearglass and if there are problems, I can do them before painting. Looks like I have to use fiberglass parts, as the sheetmetal parts looks a bit pricy in ebay... I found a 70 frontbumper here in Finland (!!!), everything else is to be found. The car itself looks solid, floors etc. is good.
Hello Finn: Send me an email . I have some parts that would help you . cameocarclub@yahoo.com Cometized (Chip)
Thanks Paul! So far I've got very good tips and valuable contacts to other enthusiasts, who has parts and stuff. Awesome group!!
Thanks! I also like Nightwish very much! Actually, Marco Hietala lives here in Kuopio, same town as I am. Saw him a few times during the summer, funny looking dude
