Wow looks like it's gonna be a fun weekend. Wellllll it looks like it will be the falcon for us. I got started on the Mav today and ran into to issues not counted on. ie the wiring is pretty bad, I didnt realize the driveshaft was bent as bad as it is, and the fuel tank got punctured in the process. But we are still gonna have a good time!!!!!!
It is going to be a good weekend indeed, Saturday sunny with a high of 72. also to have good friends and new friends there, will be great..... So here's to two new friends all of you will meet Saturday..
morgan, do you need the fender well chrome mouldings for a 4 door? i think i still have the set i took off of mine. i can bring them up if you can use them. fred. are you lacking any parts i might have?
Right now it looks like we need a drive shaft, front valence and. I think we're gonna use a fuel cell in place of the stock tank. Drive shaft may be iffy, I might just have this one retubed. I picked up a 9" rear yesterday so the rear yoke may need to be changed. Hmm does anyone have a suggestion? ughh and we found out yesterday that at some point there must have been a good carb fire, Lot of bondo in the center of the hood. It kinda sinks in. We may get a glass hood. So I guess it boils down to front valence, drive shaft, and hood.
Too much carburetor will suck a hood in...all that cfm under the hood causing a vacuum effect on the hood.
New developments on parking. I got an email from the NCFMC talking about meeting at SS at 7Am. I spoke with Ron Bringle, Pres. of the local Mustang club. He indicated that they were taking the parking area usually reserved for the Cougars and Mavericks so that they could leave early for the BBQ since it was close to the entrance. I then spoke with Rick Schmidt, co-owner of NPD, whom I have known for several years. He told me he had planned on parking the NCFMC in the same place as last year, over by the river. He also said he was planning on parking the Cougars, Falcons, and Mavericks in the same area as in the past. He was especially excited about the Sprints coming. However, to insure this, we need to get some representation there early enough to secure the spots before they are taken. Anybody planning on getting there earlier than 7:30-7:45 so that we can lock in the area? The gates open at 6 AM and registration starts at 7AM. Ken and I should be there around 7:45-8AM with the 2 Sprints. Jim
I'm not sure how early I can be there. I'll be leaving from RiverView Fl (about 100 miles) early Sat morning heading to the show. I guess it just depends on how early we can make ourselves get up. If we hit the road by 6, we should be able to get there around 8 or so. Save me a spot...please, in case I'm running a little late. I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go to my uncles house in Riverview. If anyone wants to exchange cell numbers please pm me. It's usually nice to have a few guys you can call for...whatever.
Two more days ... Ray, We will be travelling roughly the same route at the same time. If you see a black 2007 Mustang that says MSTG LIL that is us ... slow down a little so we can keep up ... it is just a V6 ....
A little late to be asking ... sorry ... Is anyone bring parts for sale? I am looking for an AC dash tray. If someone needs one, I have a good lower dash with glove box from whatever years (1974?) still had the parking brake in the dashboard.Very good shape ... No cracks, would need just a minor touch-up. PM me for pics/details ...
i am going to try to be there between 7:00-7:30. depends on how fast i can get the girls moving. fred- outa luck with those pieces i have a non a/c lower tray that i can bring if someone is interested. (71) morgan-- i am talking about the chrome trim around the wheel wells.
Trailer Queen!!! (that's my excuse also) I was really hoping to take my car to this show, and my wife had even agreed, but just way too much stuff going on, and my plans all got pushed back a few weeks. I love Silver Springs, it's awesome. Have a great show!
