I would be dismantling it in the climate comtrolled garage to install a V8 and paint it a better color......... Wait, that's exactly what I did do. :D

No offense to Jack, and I sure he changed his car for a reason, but that car is UGLY!!
If it was a different exterior color, maybe someone might save it for display.
But man, that would make for some sweet street machine/resto mod material!!

No offense taken. My reason was that it was UGLY!

When I was first getting back into the Maverick world, I looked at a car that color. It was wrecked on the front, but would have been an easy fix. The main reason I didn't buy it...it was a Semi-Automatic. Only one I have ever seen.

I just saved all the pictures off the auction, they'll be good for future reference. I wish there were more of the inner fenders and hood hinges.

Two things about this car, first, I think it is screaming out for a Marti report. Wouldn't it be interesting to see exactly when it was built? Second, since this is such a well preserved example it would be awesome if one of the resident experts here could look at it in person and do a write-up for this site or one of the club's newsletters. It would probably also help sell the car.

Nice. Never saw that picture before. I can't believe they waited until that late in the assembly process to install the engine and transmission.

My 71 KS built car had Yellow Chromate bolts. My 74 St. Thomas car had body color bolts. Both cars were 100% original.

That's got to be the nicest original Maverick I've ever seen. Hope he gets his price for it. Interesting to see if it goes much higher.:)

Always makes me feel bad, I didn't do what I could have to buy the one with 4000miles, that I found in the early 90's....it wasn't pretty either, brown car, 6 cyl, rubber mat..Someone bought it and drove it as a regular daily driver for almost 10 years :(

My 1974 all original LDO car was sold to a college kid to drive to school. Wrecked months later. :(

That had to have been a kick in the crotch, Craig - had to have been self-inflicted, too!
