Earl, I'm really sorry to hear about your mother (and the damage to your car). You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers and if there's anything I can do, please let me know. I don't know why things tend to pile up when you're down, but it seems like you never get just one problem at a time, you get ten. Hang in there and remember that your friends care about you.

Folks, thank you so much for the prayers and kind thoughts. Mom is just hanging on, and I am leaving in the morning to go back and be with my Mom and family. Hopefully, she will go peacefully and know that she has the love of her family and friends. I will probably be gone for a few days, but rest assured that I read each and every post and take them all to heart. Thank you again. Here are some pics of the Mav with the toasted engine compartment. I haven't started working on it yet, but Hagerty says they will wait till I can get to it. Earl

That style of fuel filter is known to leak and start fires. :(

I'm glad to see the damage is not extremely bad. I was expecting the worst.

Earl, I`m very sorry to hear about your mom. God bless her and all of your family.

Really sucks about the car but looks like it will just be a "Project" (as Frank says)
    to fix it.

Thanks, Mike. I'll get on it when I get back, as I am headed back to S.C. in the morning. I put in a claim to Hagerty, so I'll wait to see what they have to say. Take care, see you when I get back.

Jamie; don't think the fuel filter started it, but can't be sure. The coil looks like it might have arced, but can't be sure about that either. Fireman said it looked like an electrical short started it, and then the fuel lines burned off and got it going. Just glad I could get it out before it got the whole car. Catch you later,
