Saturday night 7/28 of the 14th Annual MCCI Roundup Nationals a Maverick/Comet car corral will be set up at the Nascar race at Old Dominion Speedway and all of the Mavericks/Comets that are there will be invited to do a couple laps around the track. The cost to get into the event is free for all of us. If you want, you can do a major burn out in front of the grandstands and really get the crowd into it. It will take place between different class races as a filler for time. It could be a once in a lifetime chance to take your car around a roundy round.

we have a nascar track here in az. also. not phoenix int. raceway. but a 3/8 oval track in tucson. think it's tucson raceway park, not sure anymore. we went there and saw the first truck races. they did a 3 race series when they used to have the winter heat series. no one else was racing anywhere.:)

You guys will have a blast...wish I could be there this year. I have had one of my Mavericks on an oval track before many years ago. Our local 1/2 mile roundy-round used to have one on one drag racing at intermission time. You would start and end at the finish line but only two cars at a time untill ya got eliminated. I came in second twice but usually got beat out by a Corvette or something that could take the turns better than me. They did this about 6 weeks in a row but finally decided to stop after a couple of guys in Chevy trucks (with camper shells) "DID" trade some paint and one of them went off the #3 turn and rolled his truck. Turned out both of them had been drinking but he was okay. Can't say as much for his truck...at least it was just a Chevy. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
You guys just be careful and post plenty of pics. :burnout:
