Hello, we have a 70 Maverick, original 73k mile 200 6 cyl car. Want to upgrade to 460. I would like some info on inexpensive modifications to engine bay with stock exhaust manifolds if anyone has some tips??

Unless u plan to modify/shave/remove shock towers going with 302/5.0 base engine, much less expensive and easier to accomplish.

Thank you. I found a bunch of posts about this after I posted, but couldn't find the delete post option.

A 428 stroker small block would make more sense...

Great looking car. Shoe horning a 460 into one of these is quite a task, maybe you have access to one that you want to us?

I have a machined 460 block, hi-comp forged pistons, big cam, single plane intake. D0ve heads. So I wasn't sure if I wanted to proceed or stick a Cleveland or Windsor in it.

Welcome!! Iv only ever seen one in person with a 460 and the towers were cut and played back and the master cylinder was moved. Way tight though.

Well we decided to go with a 351, not sure if it's a Cleveland or Windsor that we're going to do yet but that seems like the best bet.

    Welcome from Sunny Florida!!

I would recommend considering the R&K conversion and you'll have plenty of room, and a much better driving car. It's not cheap, but to me it's well worth it. I just bit the bullet, can't wait for it to be done.
