I have been looking for spindles to change over my drum brakes to disc. I called a local junk yard and they said I can use spindles from a 1984 mustang to use on my 70 maverick. Is this correct. I need to know before I spend the $$.
Nope, totally different design the Mustang has McPhearson Struts that attach to the spindle thus there is no provision for an upper control arm / balljoint to attach.
Ask the junkyard to show you the Hollander Interchange Manual where this substitution is listed. Your best bet is to find later Maverick or Granada disc spindles.
