So, I'm in the process of repairing my freshly crashed '71, with some new Grabber parts from the parts car, to boot. One of the sport mirrors, however, is cracked, and the lens itself moves with no resistance, leading me to believe that there is something broken internally. Does any
I seem to recall that, rather than taking the mirror guts all apart, after getting the glass pried loose, I used a hammer and punch to put a couple of dings in the plate that covers the ball, and tighten all that up. I think I was able to reuse the glass, too. The details are really fuzzy because I did this in 1994 or so. This repair would be passenger side only, as the driver side mirror is controlled by three cables and the remote knob.
Driver and passenger mirror glass are different size glass. Passenger's side is bigger. If you can't find the glass you could get the glass shop cut one for you
I bought some from West Coast Classic Cougar. The Mustang / Cougar used the same glass as the Maverick. It is easy to replace - there are youtube videos how to do it.
