Its a natural, don't ya think. Thanks for taking the time. It looks great. I was at Mom's house yesterday and dug up (almost literally) a set of late 60's Torino GT wheels. Five of them were I think salvageable. I think a white GT wheel with the plain center-cap would finish it off.
Here is some detail shots for a Sprint. The red pin striping follow the raised portion of the hood, right along the edge. then you have a 1/4 white space, followed by the blue. The center spacing is 2" wide of white, followed by the pin striping. The center pattern does not go into the cowl as seen.
On the sides, the valance is painted blue and that determines how high the blue goes. I very slightly altered the white gap, between the red and blue, on the front to get a better white gap under the marker light. It looks much better this way and the way it was from the factory.
On the rear, the tail light panel and valance is blue. There is a 1/4" white gap on the trunk and quarter extensions followed by red pin striping.
Mavaholic, that is great. That is exactly what I needed. I found an old set of wheels like yours but not chrome, I think white would look good on them. Your car looks great. Thanks!
They offer them in Canada http://gmcanada.com/english/vehicles/2005/chevrolet/cavalier/cava_opti.html
Oh, Canada! Well, them nuts up north will put just about any goofy combo of parts together, won't they? Just joking to all my friends in the Great White North. I've never heard of a 4-door Z-24. Hmmm...I guess I can't say that anymore!
I've thought about that too myself, couldn't handle the zoomie pipes though.Flat black, hunkered down over 15x8 black steels,5-speed with 3:00 gears and a healthy v8....that would be an awesome daily driver!
Great pics Dennis.....I never noticed the stripes on the hood before....I mean I thought the blue connected towards the front of the car.,......as always awesome car! I think it would be neat to see...go for it.
