Somebody has done a marti report, on there sprint, not too sure who. They should have some ballpark number
I saw a Marti report on eBay and it said something to the effect of: 24,000 with this paint code 12,000 with the Sprint value package That said, I don't know if they count all Sprints in the 12k or if they are just counting Sprint Mavericks. Also, is the paint code unique on the Sprint? Are they counting all Fords with that paint code, or just Mavericks with that paint code. They are very vague stats. Sounds to me like the most Sprints made could be as many as 24-25k, to as few as 12k.
Notice this ad saying Mavericks is shown with optional bright window frames and drip moldings ... perhaps that was the value package ...
That is cool to hear! My Sprint doesn't have the chrome trim either. It's all white, but when I checked under the paint on the boomerangs, they were chrome! Kinda nice though. I have two perfect chrome boomerangs because the paint protected them all these years.

Perhaps a more relevant question would be how many of these models are left? When have you ever seen a Pinto Sprint even though they produced more of them than the others? Jim
My Sprint Maverick has the chrome mouldings and says so on the Marti report. It is called Sprint Exterior Accent Group. Jim
If you spend any time on www.Fordpinto.com like I have, the Sprint Pinto topic has come up at least more than a few times, though existing models are, well, "unestablished/unknown" at best (kind of like Stallions). There are at least two guys out there that have talked about Sprint Pintos, but the most recent example of an original one to be "discovered" was an absolute rust bucket (Washington state), and deemed unrestorable by the owner. The pictures he showed would bear the truth of that decision, sadly. Chris
I got a set of boomerangs off a Sprint in a junkyard a couple of years ago, and they were the same way.
Chris, Are you referring to the Sprint Pinto that "Ironman" out in the Seattle area found? Yes, I periodically go on the site in search of anything "Sprint" related. I am in the process of buying a Pinto Sprint that is currently being taken to local shows. Not perfect, but definately not a rust bucket either. I should have it home by the end of next week. I ordered a Marti report on the car to confirm the Sprint status. It is the real deal. Jim
Well, the old junk yard my Dad worked at back in WV had the trio sitting all in a row. Had a 6 cylinder Sprint Maverick, 351C powered Sprint Mustang sportsroof and the Pinto. I believe maybe the pinto is still there. As I remember it was hit in the front, the mustang was a roll over and the Maverick was just there out of neglect. I tried for years to have my dad get it for me. It and the Mustang ultimately went to the crusher along with a Boss 351 body shell that was also a roll over. -Matt
Are the Pinto Sprints worth much? i know of an all original one about 30 minutes from me....the lady still drives it.
The worth of something is what someone is willing to pay for it. Of all the Sprints, the Pinto is the rarest. However, the demand for the Mustang and Maverick are much more except to someone like myself, who is trying to complete a collection of them. Is this Pinto for sale? What part of the country do you live in? Jim
