Managed to find time today to get the rack on. I put the caliper brackets on and found that my bearing packer is at the shop. This is also the first time I noticed that the cradle has a notch in it. I will need to get a oil pan but not sure which one. Rack installed 2014-08-20 21.43.14.jpg

Good thing I didn't plan on getting a whole lot done. Had to remove the dang caliper brackets and run a thread chaser in the caliper bolt holes. That required me driving 20 miles one way to OReiley for a tap.. :grumpy:. Only managed to get the rotors and calipers on today.

I have the two front temporary wheels on and the front is on the ground. I started to try and figure out how to lift the rear without the rear end under it. It's laying on it's belly and the rear leafs. I noticed the rear shackles do not have the bolts going through the bushings. I came in for lunch and am now heading back out..

When I initially read up on MII kits, I found allot of failure threads, but those were only the old design fatman and heidt kits..pretty much cross members failed..
RC motorsports and TCI kits look to be the best..
Do you plan to like add a fender hoop bar..attaches to cowl to end of front fraimrail? to compensate the deletion of shock towers?

MII kit is the best kit/setup for your $$ to performance
AME would be better, but its about 1000 more plus cost of brakes setup
    Edit
I also like the gusset idea, you doing any other ends too? or just as pictured?

I may add a fender bar from one side to the other.. But that won't be till the engine is in so I can determine where to put it.
The cradle was already in the car when I bought it. Whoever had it wrapped the frame rail with what looks like 3/16 plates. He also left the front cross member. I was told he was racing the car. It seems rather stiff all around to me. I don't plan to do any more than just put it together.. I don't think it even needed the gussets but it was the time to do it if I was so I did. I decided even before this car that when I did it I would get the set up style that is in this car. Has the top hat for the coil springs. It's my opinion that it seems to be a solid set up.
Since the cradle was already there I ordered what was needed to put it back together. The previous guy took everything off for another project. All the steel is 1/4" thick. I'm not sure what others use.
