    So lessons learned....

Rebuilt steering box resulted in a lot less slop and floating on the steering and with the specified alignment, the car tracks along the road far better. Turning effort seemed greater, so followed instructions to grease, 10 pumps with wheel to the left and 30 with it to the right... much better. From the rebuilder it was only partially greased carsteering.com

Oh and rather than remove the headers they took the box out from the top after removing master cylinder.

Hey I'm in the process of putting everything back together I do have a gap between the box and the colum. Like 1 inch or less than that.
Do I really need to do some adjustments to the colum? And if yes can anyone tell how to do it please Tysm.

    I have a 71 comet 302.

If you are still using original steering box to column set up, then you may be missing the "rag joint", attached is picture showing OEM rag joint connector, also is U-Joint that I replaced the rag joint with.......

I have to put everything back together and see if is too tight. I'm probably not doing it right.. in any case If I have to do the opposite away... (cut the colum) how I do that?. I'M doing it myself and Im not a professional. Ill post some pictures after I put the colum back.

Yes, pictures would help! The inner steering shaft is 2 pieces and designed to be "collapsible" in a crash, so you may have bumped it while removing and could have changed the length, it can be re adjusted........
