What is the going price for one of those Mustang II wheels? Also are the spokes painted(if so what color?), or just natural metal? Thanks guys!

They are natural metal, and as far as the going price, I have no idea, but they were in a lot of cars. :bananaman

Cool, thanks for the info! :) I possible found one from a Mustang II, so I am trying to get a rough estimate of what they normally cost.....

Well I lost on the one I was bidding on this past week, because like a dumb-ass I was away from my computer last night when the auction ended.

And I'm actually pretty sick about it...

I converted my steering wheel in the same manner almost 8 years ago. I had the wheel from a Comet(same wheel as pictured) and was looking at the door emblem...and just sort of had a brain wave. My steering wheel locks and also cancels the turn signal just like the original wheel did.

I'll trade this Grant steering wheel (in excellent condition) for a Cobra-II steering wheel if anyone is interested...

Great looking job there Dan. I got my wheel out of a Pinto but it was black (not polished) and was leather-wrapped too. Didn't have any turn signal cancelling isses either. For the horn button I used one of those Maverick script hat pins but I like yours a lot better. Thanks for the pic!

    I had one...

..I had one with the Cobra emblem in the center,
actually out of a Cobra II. The standard mustang
horse head is the same steering wheel.
I had mine in 1987, I decided not to put it on
because a friend put one in his before I did and
I didn't want to copy him. That wheel is still in
his car. I traded mine for a dual point distributor.

They did come with matte black spokes with the
'Ford' blue oval in the center as well.

Charles Stalnaker had one in his car many yrs.
    ago as well.

For you Dan Starnes in case you decide to put one on
    your Stallion.

I don't THINK that the 79-82 Mustang wheels will cancel the turn signals, though I'm not positive about that.

The 'stallion' center logo was actually in a lot of Mustang II's, not just the stallions. My wheel had that center in it and it was from a regular V6 Mustang II. And my Mom bought a Mustang II brand new in 1977 and it was a 2.3L with the same wheel and center cap.

    Charlie...

...true. From what I have seen the Stallion head was on the standard Mustang wheels. It is similar if not exact for people
like Dan who have the Stallion Mavericks. Or, Stallion Mustangs
    or Pintos.

Hey, TL, you have a PM.

There were several different wheels made that look the same, so be careful if you buy sight unseen.

The earlier wheels were used a lot on F series trucks in the late '70s as an option and will fit and work. They made several different style horn centers for them. I recently put one with the Stallion crest on my F-150 and it looks great. It's a '91, non airbag.

They made them for the Fox platform cars also, such as the Mustang II, and do not have the horn connections. They were mostly all black. The center is just a cap. At a glance in a picture, they look identical. You have to look at the back of the wheel center to see is it has the horn contacts. I was looking at one on eBay and asked the seller for a picture of the back. This prevented me from wasting my $$ on a wheel that won't work. A couple of other sellers just e-mailed me the info and it helped also.

I don't understand the turn signal problem, either. The wheel shouldn't prevent the signal cam from operating. The wheel back shouldn't come in direct contact witht he mechanism.
