You most certainly won't pull up to another one like that at a car show or cruise and say, "Oh crap not this guy again and i thought i was the only one here with this version of a Maverick"!
I just puked in my mouth a little bit. The front looks like a retarded 77 Trans Am. The body work is horrible, and I wont even start on the rear of that thing.
I picked up one of your cards at the round-up and hoped that was what You were planning to do. Looks great. Tim
Whoa, I had to do a double take with that picture! Thats nice photoshop work. I have the program, but cant seem to get it to cooperate. I think the 240 nose looks pretty cool on a mav.
SuperGrabber Update I went this weekend and dropped off the 8.8 inch Explorer rear end to Jack so he can set up the rear suspension as well. I got some new pictures of the progress. It's looking great! Clearance is definitely going to be tight for any kind of headers, but it doesn't look like the 84-85 Mustang headers would work due to their rear exit. Looks like a set of block-hugger headers will be the only hope. There also turned out to be NO ROOM to use a stock or any kind of brake pedal setup with the master cylinder in a "normal" position on the firewall. This is due to the turning radius of the monstrous front meats. So Jack has suggested a racing brake pedal setup with small dual master cylinders that will be mounted inside like some dirt track cars. Accelerator pedal will be a Lokar unit. I sent him a steering column for a rare 65 Galaxie with console and floor shift. It has no shifter or key switch on the column so it looks very clean like an aftermarket unit, but saved me a ton of money. Jack cut it down slightly to fit and spent alot of time angling it so it's very close to a stock Maverick angle. He also built the steering joints and got them all setup. He has finished the interior floor and firewall. There's not going to be much clearance for any kind of round air cleaner, so it will probably require something like a Holley sidedraft unit. Those are expensive... We originally planned to use a Taurus aluminum radiator to save money, but it's too wide and the filler neck sticks up too far. The radiator would look better mounted between the front down tubes, so there's only 23" between them, and 17" of height. Aftermarket aluminum radiators are 19" tall, so it will have to be mounted below where I'd prefer, but it will still look okay. Too bad we can't find someone that could build a 23x17 aluminum radiator with angled inlet, outlet, and filler neck (since the radiator will be "laid down" like in Corvettes).... Anyone know of a place that would do it for not much more than a normal aftermarket univeral radiator? Well, here's some updated pics.
