I like what we have on Tammy's car, I don't really care for the mustang reverse lights. That's just me and of course someone has a better way of doing it (the shelby panel) I did have one idea for a reverse light is, make the license plate tilt down with an accuator and have a light behind it.
Ray, Where is the seal for the inside of your cap? Mine has a rubber plug that seals the filler neck. Seems like you might leak fuel during hard acceleration without it. Dave
Dave, it was just temporarily installed for a trial fit. It will have the seal and everything when completed. I got the car painted yesterday and and now in the reassembly process. Here's a couple of updated photos. Got one week to finish...wish me luck.
my thoughts on "backup lights" they are just an "indicator" light to let anyone know you are going to backup. as far as "seeing" where you are going...that ain't happening. when you check to see if a bulb is burnt out you have to get out and look. my "bobcat" lights have the turn sigs. where the backup lights "use ta wuz". ...frank...
tail lights Those are some of the best conversion tail lights I have ever seen on a maverick.. Tell me you have a template for cutting the holes out.are those 65 t bird lights or 64...really nice I would love to have a template...Jim
Razorsharp You have the type of gas cap (Mach 1) That I want to run on my `71 . did it take much modification to the car,or cap do mount it? Both cars Look great guys.
Jim, The lenses are from a 65 t-bird (the 64 lenses have a t-bird emblem in them), the outer chrome bezels are from a 64 t-bird. We don't have templates for the holes we cut out. We basically cut out just past where the raised part of the panel stops, and made sheetmetal fillers to fit it. Jason
Thanks, The Mach I cap worked great on my car but bear in mind that I used the entire Shelby tail light panel so I had a flat surface to mount it on. If you just put it straight on a stock tail panel, the gas cap will have a little bit of overhang on the raised portion of the tail panel. If you look at the restoration pics below my signature, you'll get an idea about what I had to do.
not that anyone would use a mopar part on their mav, but the charger flip fuel cap fits nicely,.....dont ask me how i know
Looks great. You guys on this board are so talented. I'm jealous. hopefully someday mine will be half as nice as yours.
