MWayne, they are the same. My dad used to have one from a Mustang II.

    Dan,

Looks very nice, perhaps you can have the grip area covered with leather, or something that will hold up. Adds a nice "sporty" look to the car!

Yep, I would love to have one too, of course with the "Stallion" logo though, lol. Since those things are hard to come by, I have done some "looking" for NEW steering wheels, but really haven't found one that looks as nice. Anybody know of an aftermarket one that "looks" similar?

Yep, that one looks really nice! I wonder if Dan's Maverick logo would fit in that center hub?

Thanks for the research! I was looking around that site as well. I like the aluminum look rather than the chrome, so I'm still looking.

    Thanks!

Which site did you find that Mustang steering wheel on?

That's a nice steering wheel, but I like the Mustang-II one better...

Art; I have that wheel. I used a Maverick door emblem (small inside round one). It fits right in. Just grind the pegs off of the rear, and super glue it in. Dan's decals will look better, and easier to put in.

I agree with you guys, the "original" would be the best, and of course since I'm working toward a Stallion clone, the Stallion logo version would be cool (I remember the first time I saw that steering wheel was when I stopped in Ohio to see Wilbur's Stallion, looked very nice). However, those steering wheels are getting pretty hard to come by, so I think the Grant one isn't bad either. The #968-0 Classic is the best I have seen so far. I like the fact that it's brushed stainless steel rather than chrome. If that's the route I finally go, hopefully the center caps from Dan will fit (I'm ordering 2 sets so I have extras to work with). Thanks guys for the help tracking stuff down, a lot of you have "been there, done that" and I appreciate your experience. I'm printing out a lot of info for future reference to put in my "Maverick" folder!

I'm going to watch the first one with the Stallion logo. It looks like the second one someone painted the center black, which spoils it for me. The last one looks nice, good condition, too bad it has that Cobra logo in the center. Also, looks like it's going to be expensive.

    Hey, thanks for the links!!!

Art I dont think the center has been painted black cause some of them came like that. The one I have is black. Also you have to make sure they have the horn button in the center as some of them came with the horn on the column( signal lever -push in). Here is mine with the center and spokes black just as it came. I would not get carried away on any of them cause they are not that rare you just have to look for them. I got mine for $20

Wow, you got it for $20, wow! I have seen them going closer to $100 on eBay. Does yours have the grip area covered with leather or vinyl?
