Yes I've seen those transmissions and the angle of the mount is much more drastic than what mine is right now.
I just checked and mine is rotated the opposite direction. I can't find my angle finder so I don't know to what degree
Does your T5 have the ID tag attached yet so that we can look it up? It'll have a number like 1352-XXX, where the XXX tells us the original application. http://www.mongosgarage.com/tech/t5/T5Numbers.PDF
E6ZR-7003-FB REP-ATI 13-52-169 130656 B0181 And I found my angle locator. It's 5* clockwise looking from the back. I also had another T5 from a mustang and it has the same angle on the mount.
-169 = 86.5 - 89 Mustang and Capri. It's only rated at 265 lb ft? Next time I'm under mine I'll have to look closer, although my T5 was built by Tremec (-251 tag number) after they bought the line from Borg Warner and is considered an aftermarket trans.
Is yours the -249 or -251? As I understand it, the T5Z never came in a Mustang from the factory. The -249 was built by Borg Warner and the -251 was made by Tremec for aftermarket sales.
Thanks for that link. I thought for 86.5 to 89 they should have had a higher torque rating too?It looks like the the ones to have are the 91 to 93 mustang units with 300 ft Lb rating.
