Ray, you had 28x10's on a stock length rear with only 3 3/4 backspacing on a 8 inch rim?

remember, sometimes advertised measurements are not the same as "actual" measurements........as an example, the 28x12.5 et street only measures about 10" wide....but they call it a 12.5

yep. I do have long shackles and trimmed the axle snubbers. clearance is tight on the outside, but there's miles of room on the inside.

I think my solutiion is really going to be a 26" tall slick. That appears to be the real culprit. Another inch closer on the inside I will rub the leaf spring. Cannot go another inch on the outside as I had to modify the lip of the wheel opening on the qtr panel. So my backspacing is correct for what I want to do. Remember, I do not have the original rearend in mine. But my dimensions are very very close to what stock was. Actually test fit the wheels since the nassaging of the body and now no rubbing. But in the garage is no comparison to the car actually moving. Will wait and see what happens when I get to the track. , but I think I have made up my mind on a 26" slick. Lived with rubbing rear tires for too many years and will not live that life again.
