I have a magazine from the late eighties that shows that car at the street machine nationals, and another that has a full feature on it

No, cutting holes in Pintos is perfectly okay with me.:D

    F### Pintos!

I suppose if someone cuts a hole in a fiberglass reproduction Grabber hood, that's fine.(y) But the original steel ones are hard enough to find as it is, and should never be destroyed...

i was thinking the same thing!

in the 80's it was all flash and no go!

i remember another pro street maverick in the later 80's with a similar paint scheme (in two magazines etc). at the time i thought it was bad ass. god i wanted that car! i didn't even care that it was powered by a 350 chevy in it. doh!

then a few years later the guy sold it to someone else. then a few years after in the early 90's i saw it at the track. man i thought my car was slow at the time (mid 13s) ... but man that chevy driven maverick was really slow! i mean it was tubed and everything! it ran like consitant 15's in the 1/4! guess that just proved the point i always tell people, it shows you that just becuase a car is tubed don't mean its fast.

    Missing my old '70 Maverick
Without delving into the history of 15hitface, I was reminded of how this one guy saw HIS OWN CAR BEING AUCTIONED on ebay.

Some lowlife saved the pictures that he'd posted of his car (from a message board not too unlike this one) and the 'would-be' thief used those photos to try to get someone to send the down-payment at auction end.

Fortunatley, the scam was caught before it went through.

    re: pictures
Some good memories out there for old folk!
