Some people here may remember me expressing my frustration a while back that Rock Auto stopped shipping to my zip code due to tax reasons. I just wanted to let everyone know that they now ship to my location again and I am thrilled, because they have great prices and a wide selection of name-brand parts including those for our old cars. I just successfully placed an order for a fuel pump for one of my other old cars.

    Thank you Rock Auto!...

    Hummm?
They should be apologizing to you. Not you thanking them!
    Sounds political.

I use them frequently and have had great luck with their parts and prices.

ROCK AUTO and SUMMIT Racing are two of the most reliable suppliers of quality parts. We've built several cars dealing with BOTH of them . Glad they're here !

I believe they have apologized to him along with an explanation why they pulled the plug on his region. I get why they did too, destination bases tax came to Washington some time back and was a nightmare. If we sent parts out to another county or town we had to charge the tax for the zone the customer took possession in.

Just to make it interesting, the state identified the zones by four digit numbers and every stinking one of them was in the business system we used. Charge accounts were a breeze but selling to a first time customer SUCKED! Imagine having to do that for more than just a couple customers and multiple states and from what I gathered, his location was more complicated than my state.

I use these guys for some of my parts and have always had good luck with them on pricing.

Without them, I wouldn't even know how to build an American car overseas in Europe!
