Btw: Sounds like you have a hydraulic roller cam... ??? If so, a flat tappet spring should be fine. As always though, ask before you buy.
how about the blue thunder heads?:evilsmile ... yeah way overkill, and not too streetable, but, oh well
Dave your right about the cam, the springs are the ones that is recommend to match the cam. I took the stock springs off the heads. Is a 185cc head to much for a 302ci. I was told to stay below 180cc to keep the velocity of air up. I don't know anything about the other heads.
Build opinion: 302-306= afr165 331-347= afr185 351-???=afr205 *I have the 205's, not reaching full potention with my 347, but the bigger stroked 351 in the works should really show the full potential of the 205's. just my 2 pennies.
Judging from the pic in this man's sig, I would listen to him. He's got a set up and running, I was just speaking my opinion from reading articles. Big difference. Dave
Flow is only one aspect of a good head. Combustion chamber design is another. Getting all that air/gas in to the chamber is one thing, how it acts when it gets there is another. Everybody is so caught up in the flow #s
streetrod77, if you PM Killercomet I'm sure he will give you his .02 He has a high 11 second 1/4 mile street machine and I know he did a lot of home work on the heads. I think for the dollar he has invested he got every penny worth out of his heads. There is one item that we sometimes over look and I still remember seeing the sign hanging on the wall the first time I every walked into a speed shop. "SPEED COST! HOW FAST DO YOU WANT TO GO?" I think that says it ALL. As always just my .02 Bossmav
