    Back to the Green Monster!
Jeep ZJ project that has been in the way of the Maverick for a year is wrapping up.

I should be moving the Maverick back to the shop this week.

Maverick moved from storage back to shop! Its been a storage container for a lot of the parts that were removed.
Today I got everything out of it and cleaned off all the spider webs and months of dust.

For the next little part, I will be welding some rust holes in the roof and in the C pillar behind the rear quarter window trim. I don't want to set the nice headliner on fire so it had to come out.

To get the headliner out, I had to remove the back windshield.

A little bit here, a little bit there...

    Happy Fourth of July!

This morning I decided to start the next little repair on the Maverick.
We're taking kind of a top down approach right now.
To start reassembly, I have to complete any and all welding on the roof and pillars before I can reinstall the headliner, or any part of the interior.
Here is a picture of the rain gutter over the rear quarter window on the day I bought it:

Not looking too good. Since then we have removed the glass and chrome and headliner.

With a little grinding this morning I found out it was not all bondo, there is some metal left, hooray!

Up front, I also had an ugly dime sized hole in my a-pillar and I knew there was some rust in there too.

To get to the worst spots, I had to remove a section of the drip rail, with a little chiseling here:

    And a cut here:

And now we can see the ugly part that has to go:

These look like a couple of great places for some new steel.

Wow. That last pic is very telling of where things are heading when those little rust bubbles show up next to the gutter. I had no idea how these bodies were actually constructed.

It hurts to see stuff like this. Glad to see you taking the right steps to fix it.
