Once again, you are gonna astound us all with your progress.........This reminds me of when you first built the car........ AMAZING!!!! Preston
That's funny Frank, I feel like I'm standing on the edge of the abyss, once I start stripping the paint I'm in up to my neck. Ray I need a fifth of J.D. after today...like Jerry (scrapper) says...gettin old aint for sissy's. Preston I'm on my own on this time around, my guys are too busy to help and even if they weren't I'm not sure I'd let em do anything to it, so if something isn't right with it I can kick myself.
Inner and outer tie rod ends and stabilizer link and this side is done. This has actually been kinda fun and a good learning experience.
I know it looks like it's stretched pretty tight, but with the tie rod end off and moving the wheel to it's extreme turning points it doesn't bunch up or pull the metal line away from the fender wall. If there was any problem at all with it I would have shortened the metal line and brought it closer to the wheel.
Looks great!! Only problem is keeping it clean. I can say from experience that cleaning under cars is a royal pain in the a$$.
Dennis you raise a good point, that's a high temp hot rod paint on there now... shooting that area when I paint it may be a better way to go as far as keeping it clean. I'm done on this side and well on my way on the other. Components...Spicer steering and suspension components, Rotorpros rotors and Napa brake hardware, havn't decided on shocks yet...QA1 maybe. On to the fun part now...body prep work Last pic..
