    Fuel Pump

Several years ago I installed a late model Mustang engine in my 76 F-150 and placed a low pressure ROTARY fuel pump inside the frame and with the engine off and the key on you can hear a very faint noise from the pump.

When the engine is running you cannot hear the pump.

I'm using a 16 gallon Jaz fuel cell that I had originally bought to be used in a stock car that I was building. The pickup hose is attached to an AN fitting screwed into the top of the cell, then a hose leads down the 8 inches to the bottom of the cell and is positioned in a corner with a "bat wing" pick up then the foam blocks keep it in place. The Chevy mechanical pump on the stock car never had any problems pulling the fuel up to the AN fitting and then through the hose to the engine but that is a puller pump. Will a Holley Balck have any problems lifting that fuel up that 8 inches and out or will I be need to start thinking about a bottom sump?

locate the holley pump at or below the bottom of the fuel cell.
