well i went back to the track this past sat night, i ran 3 times the first run was a 8.23 with a 1.79 60ft at 82.3mph, the second run the timer screwed up so i dont know what i ran, it did feel faster but i have no way of knowing, and the third run they had the timers shut down due to a storm coming in, over all its running pretty good

well it seems ive hit a wall, i cant seem to get my car to run any faster
everything ive done hasnt really changed my et or mph, it just made it more consitant,i added caltracs, better fuel pump, torker 289 intake, i have some alstons subframe connectors to install just havent gotten around to doing that yet, last time i took the car i ran a 8.25, 8.26, 8.26, 8.28, 8.26 all right about 82.6 mph, i think its time for a gear change or motor change something! the speed bug has bit me and i wanna get in the 7's ! i might get in the 7's when it cools off the last time i was there it was like 95 degrees in the evening and 95% hummity, but just givin yall a update.

I was going to say gear change and a converter. What gear is in it and what stall speed?

Man is that consistent? Good job. What gears are in it. Sounds like it could use some.

yeah that is srd, it has 3.80 gears with a trac loc, i have some 225/50/15 bfg drag radials on the back, according to the gear calculator with that tire size it should be like a 4.00 gear, but yeah its pretty consitant, i was shock to keep see those numbers like that, my buddy said ok now we have a bracket racer, oh the converter is a edge performance custom stall, i can foot brake it to 3000 rpm, i was stalling it to 2500 before taking off, it seem to like that rpm when launching

it looks like you have maximized you combination. what heads, cam, and compression is your motor?
right now the easiest way to get to the 7s is to put a nitrous system on. just a small system like a power shot or sniper should easily put you into the 7s.

The first 2 vids have 3:80's??
Must have been the converter I heard lugging it down on launch not gearing. Just played the last vid and it launchd much better.I assume thats with the new converter?

ive thought about nitrous, but its like playin with snake never know when its gonna bite you, kinda like a woman lol, no offense ladies! yeah the first videos where with the suppose to be 2500 converter, but it was like a really tight stock converter, the third was with the new converter, my heads are 66 289 heads with 1.94 intake and 1.6 exhaust that i ported myself, the compression is 9.5 to 1, with a thumper flat tappet cam, i think the combo runs fairly good for what it is, i think im gonna start getting parts for a 347 hyd roller motor for it

I think the only thing holding you back from 7s is your heads. Even though you have bigger valves and have ported them, a set of aftermarket heads such as some AFR 185s would make a world of difference. Not that your heads are bad its just that it has everything to do with head and port design. That will also take a few pounnds off the front end.
What size headers are you running?
