Lol. One thing about it, with the way Grabber hoods rust out in the frt finding a junk Grabber hood with rust free scoops shouldn't be a problem. Heck I had one myself and sold it.

Anything is possible, you see this cowl in this pic? It is the center of a fiberglass 90's camaro hood. Once the fiberglass work is done over the winter, you will never see any seams. The contour of the camaro hood was pretty close to the stock maverick hood I had planned on just cutting a hole and let the breather stick out. However, I like this look alot better than a big ol K&N just sticking up through a hole. with a welder and some fab skills. anything is possible. I am an AWS certified welder, never afraid to take on the impossible.

I've thought about doing the same thing on both my extra Comet hood and an old F-100 hood.

The only thing I see that may cause a headache is the complete raised body line on the Grabber hood will need to be transfered over to and blended into the Comet hood to get the scoops to look right.

Trying to blend it in right at the scoops will cause too sharp of a bump up to be asthetically pleasing to the eye.

Good luck with your project and please post pictures of the progress if you attempt it!:thumbs2:

Yeah thats what im hoping for. Now just to find one!

Yeah I really like this look as well. I am hoping to have two or three interchangeable hoods by the time im 'done'.

I think I know what your talking about. I have a feeling I might get started on this project sooner than I had imagined. If I come across the hoods and the price is right I'll jump on it. I'll take tons of pictures when I get it all started. (Maybe not of my welding cause it will be atrocious! Hahaha)

The mav is gone but i'm still here!

I wish I knew what happened with that mustang, I was the one who saved the picture and uploaded here onto the board. It was on sale on ebay, but I didn't have the bright idea to write down who purchased the car.

I'm not a mustang expert at all but I think the top one is an early GT hood and the bottom a Cobra hood?

    They're both have Grabber-ish looks.

The Cobra hood is stock I just didn't know what year they came on. I got confused with the Cobra R model.

It's the same in My family my brother is the mustang Lover/expert, except he's only 14 lol

By the time he was 12 he knew more about Mustangs than most Mustang owners do!

He wants a 71/73 Grande, So i'm looking for one to restore with him. It's kinda odd that he chose that Grande body style out of all of them. Especially since the 69/70s look better IMHO.

that's crazy..i know almost nothing about them and have no interest in them at all but then if you would talk to my dad or brother..they are the most amazing things EVER. they pretty much like them all, i only like 5L's beacuse i bought one for my first car and it was the fastest in my highschool with being bored .30 and a intake and carb on it with msd ignit. lol (sorry for going off topic)

That mustang looks so rad. I'm no fan of mustangs though. There are about a million and one around here in langley and every guido juiced up monkey drives one of these.
