    rear

Looks sweet!! I am running a "slightly" narrower rear also. Frustrating thing, the tires only rub during turns. So I have body roll somewhere I am convinced these will work. (is that because they are non returnable?!) Hammered the throttle today and hooked for the first time in a looooong time. Felt too good to give up on this problem.. Scott

What is the exact size and backspace of the wheels?

    size

    15 x 8.5 w/4 7/8 b.s. rides fine as long as I don't turn!!!! Scott

Old Guy suggested I check the shackle bushings. Not sure how to do that other than visual, they are plenty of cracks on the rubbers as it is original. Would that cause the car to roll into turns? Shocks only control up/down in a stright line, yes? I am a suspension idiot! Scott

I'm running a set of 295/50-15 tires mounted on 8" rims with a 4" backspace and have no troubles at all with clearance or rubbing....of course I did two mods to help out. I rolled the rear fender lips and removed the mid stock spring and replaced it with a heavier duty spring which raised the rear not quite half and inch and gave it a much more stable ride in the corners as well helping the tires keep their distance. It also looks way cool!

If the tires are rubbing only on the inner fender well you could just "contour " them slightly with a Hammer.

    Hammer!

I removed 100% of the inner lip, about 7/8" wide. Any hammering now will change the outside shape. I am not anxious to tackle that one. Maybe the body shop is the only hope. Although, I do not think it should roll that much.. Scott

With that size tire it must be outside the fender. I wanted to stay tucked under, almost trying for a slight tubbed look.295 is a LOT of tire! 50's are also shoretr Mine are a full 28" tall

I thought you meant that the tire was rubbing on the inside fender well (closest to the trunk) thats what I was talking about using the hammer on.;)

    Thanks all

After further research I agree that my springs are shot! Hmm, 33 years old, Nitrous, slicks etc... Can't imagine why! I ordered new 4 leafs from Springs-n-Things with poly inserts. Should help out a LOT! I am also replacing the brand new GR2 shocks wih sometong a bit stiffer. Thanks for all the help! Scott

    I like the contrast...

....between large rears and narrow fronts.

What size tires and wheels are the fronts?
