you got llucky on the floor rust..i had the replace both sides with mustang floors... . looks good... i need to do the cowl repair... mine is SOOOO rusted..
Ok, I'm bringing my car over and leaving it with you for a while. Very nice work! Is there really any need for cowl vents? What purpose do they serve?
The previous owner of my '70 hacked the carp outta the tranny hump. He obviously needed more room for 'something'. The driver side has been remodled to have a 'deck' extended outward and forward. I'll have to get some pics. I'm in the middle of putting in new carpet now and just happened to notice how relatively small the tunnel was on yours (in that area). Is that a '72? What year did they make the tunnel bigger? Also, did they change it again when the 'Cadillac' converters were required?
I think '73 was the first year of the biggest tunnel. My '73 and '74 definately have bigger tunnels then that '72. I wouldn't say they are wider, but they are definately taller. Then again it could just be an illusion makeing the '72 tunnel appear smaller in those pics. My 76's tunnel is about the same size as the '74 other then the cat hump. (that didn't sound right )

I don't know the answer to the tunnel question, but I bet someone here does. BTW, I'm sure you all noticed how filthy the engine bay is. The six cyl was leaking oil all over the place and evidently the guy that owned the car lived on a dirt road. I've got to give it to the guy for ingenuity, he replaced the plug wires with lengths of regular extension cord. I wish I had taken pictures of that before I scrapped the engine.
