yeah it was pretty sweet. i mean the smell of burnt tires, and race gas... it was great. the loud high compresssion motors. there was a couple rear engine dragsters there they ran 4.81 at like 145. but the only part i dont quite understand is how the classes are separated. more of it is like How do i know wich class to enter my beast in, then the exact amout i have to pay, and how much a pit card is, and where i pit. so maybe you guys can help me out with some of that.

go to www.eddyvilleraceway.com. it gives you the weekly classes and the entry fees. super et is 7.50 and slower with no electronics. also looks like they have a trophy class. try it. you might like it.
p.s. you might find there are many on here that will help you with any questions you might have about bracket racing. (there are 1000's of ways to lose and i'm still learning new ones.):D

    Hi Don how are you?

nickriede, I was a young man in the mid 70's alot like yourself, had to have the fastest car in town and always looking for a good street race.
I never cared about anything but racing... just like you now I would love to see a older AMERICAN car just kick the $hit out of these imports. BUT NEVER WHERE IT'S NOT SAFE!

Now with all that said lets look at how you can do it.
You want to go faster in a 3000 pound car with a 302 and beat a car lighter and faster then yours.

Rule # 1 SPEED COST! HOW FAST DO YOU WANT TO GO?
    Do you have a job?
    can you rebuild a carb?
    can you rebuild a motor?
    can you rebuild a transmission?
can you setup a rear end?
If you want to go fast then you need money and lots of it!!!!!

I can see by all the other posts you have made you are going to race on the street no matter what anyone else says.

You will get a big helping of humble pie when a fast import hit's the NOS and leaves your little dumb a$$ in the dust.

Rule # 2 There will always be someone faster then you!

With age comes wisdom and experience, you are only 17 and nothing can hurt you... right!

May the Lord keep you safe and watch over you as he did me when I was your age and dumber then a box of rocks!

I'm glad I never hurt anyone when I street raced and now all I can say is THANK YOU JESUS!

As always just my .02 but I'm right on this one!

Do you have a job? yes
can you rebuild a carb? yes, did a 2 barrel saturday for my little brother for his 68 fairlane
can you rebuild a motor? did that over spring break - wouldnt spend 2 grand on a piece
can you rebuild a transmission? ive got time to learn
can you setup a rear end? traction problems coming so ill get to that soon
If you want to go fast then you need money and lots of it!!!!! and yeah speed costs money thats why every penny i have goes into my car.

and im in high school - someone has to be the fastest. and that hurts if your a maverick fan, yet you dont put any faith in it being fast.:(

Sure, but they don't get up to 110 very quickly. I guess a more accurate term would be "quick"...

I had a 250 once and I thought it was a pooch. Seriously, anybody who thinks a stock 250 is all that just hasn't experienced anything better yet.
