Just keep in mind that those E-brocks start to go flat after around .550 lift and adding more can force them to go turbulent and actually start going backwards.

IMO, that cam in a 351 will likely put you up around 370 horse and near similar torque figures.

Well she is together and went with shorty headers due to fitment issues, I was really surprised at the torque down low. I figured it would be a dog below 3000. I used a calculator for cranking compression and it was way off so don't trust them. The calculator estimated that I had 131 lbs. and I tested it just for fun even though rings aren't seated yet I Got 155 lbs. on the 2 that I tested :) im guessing that puts my dynamic ratio up in the 7.5 to 8:1 thank goodness. Later all and God bless

The rods are your weak link. Save yourself some trouble and change to a better rod before you start to drag race it. The stock crank will take a lot but we've broken a lot of those rods in years past. The truck rod is marginally better than a car rod (football bolt head vs square cut for bolt head) but still not that great. A cheap set of H-beams with good bolts will save your short block.

Go to any desk top DYNO and you can input your build and it will tell you the numbers.

I don't think I will have to worry about rods, will never go past 6000, and most likely will make 5500 my rev limit. I just cant believe the initial this motor wants to run at on 91 octane it likes 20 BTDC best for a good strong idle and no hesitation, but I am gonna stick with 15* till I get exhaust on it which will be completed in 2 days and then ill be able to hear and pinging or detonation under load. Anyone else get best performance at 20 initial and 40 total at 3000 rpms?
