There really wasnt that much in there. The vacuum is working fine so I think the transmission is crap. I dont know enough about transmissions to take it apart and install the master rebuild kit. I've called about 10 different transmission shops in my area and there all way too expsensive. Lowest qoute ive got was $1,500 for them to rebuild it. I asked them if thats their labor for removing it or if I remove it and bring it to them and they never answered the question. Half the reviews on these transmission shops are fake. I think I might have to save some money and buy a new one. I found brand new c4's for less than $2,000. We will see.

Vacuum is fine and no fluid went through it. Would tighening the modulator too tight cause it not to shift out of 1st gear? I really dont feel like buy a new tranny if I can get this to work.

I have a leak in my transmission pan that I have sealed with silicone and never changed the filter on it either. I might as well start cheap and buy the new pan, gasket, filter and modulator and see if it works. Does anyone know if transmission shops can create the cooler lines? I have the ones that came off the maverick but I had to bend them to route them to the 66 mustang transmission correctly.

Jay at Broader Performance has a C4 that is rated at 500 hp for $900.
If the cheapest you can find locally for a rebuilt stock C4 is $1500 then getting a built C4 for $900 is a great deal - you will never hurt it and as long as you service it every two years it is likely to outlast your car. Broader Performance does excellent work. If I didn't build performance C4s myself I would buy from him!

yeah lets just hope it doesnt need anything but the master rebuild kit. I have a feeling i drop it off and get a call saying some of the bigger parts are bad and the price sky rockets from there.

At that price ($480) I would bet that you will get hit for about another $200 before its over.... But then I am cynical about "good deals" that involve low prices.

Yeah the low price lures you in the door and giving up your arm and leg gets you out.

Mine in the race car was only $650 to rebuild by a tranny shop in Tucson. Have used it for over 3 years so far with no problems.:)

Thanks for the info and recommendation! I just might do that. The other guys said $480.00 but as mentioned before im sure more charges will pop up and it will be around 600-800 before its all done. I'd rather go based off the guys on the forum then reviews that are more than likely fake. I will call them and see what they can do for me. One question that no one answered does it matter what way the transmssion lines go? I dont see how it would matter since it just cycles through the radiator and back to the trans. Please answer this if you can. Thanks!:Handshake
