    Transmission swap Hey I have a C-4 transmission behind a 200 6 cylinder Can I take another C4 from V-8 use the bell housing put that on my transmission form my six-cylinder Will that work with no problems and would I be able to use my torque converter and fly wheel thanks

    1972 Comet GT clone 306 . 1969 Fairlane Cobra 428CJ 1988 T-Bird awaiting 331 ..
    You'll need to use the 6cyl converter & bell. The 170/200 six has has ring gear welded to converter.

    So the bell housing is interchangeable you’re saying that I will need to use my torque converter and fly wheel because it’s welded together will it work behind the 302

    Oh I read it wrong so the bell housing will work and my converter from the six cylinder will work I have to buy a new flex plate

    Are you swapping 6cyl transmission to 302 or the v8 trans to 6cyl?

    Bell housings swap, 170/200 smaller than V8 or 250 six. Converters must match bell housing. There is no separate flywheel fo the small 6, welded to converter.
